If your biggest fantasy is living in Kate Winslet’s cozy cottage from The Holiday or the Hamptons Beach house in Something’s Gotta Give, then look no further than this old Toronto house at 35 South Dr.

It is the Nancy Meyers aesthetic house you’ve been dreaming about. The fact that it hasn’t been featured in one of Meyers’s films is kinda shocking.

Built in 1900, 35 South Dr. is a heritage Rosedale home with all the charm, warmth, and character of your favourite comfort movies.

The front porch.

The exterior, with its weathered cedar shingle roof and red brick, sets the tone for the home’s elegant, sophisticated, yet lived-in vibes.

The foyer.

As you enter through the original wood door, you’re transported into what looks like the movie set of The Parent Trap house.

The living room.

A lot of it is thanks to the impeccable interior design of the home.

A cozy nook in the living room.

The current owners have done a great job of blending that timeless elegance with cozy softness that makes you just want to curl up with a book.

The dining room with a fireplace.

But the other part that makes this house so inviting is the house itself.

The sun-filled family room.

The main floor has large, sun-filled rooms with tons of character, including hardwood floors, soaring ceilings and original fireplaces.

The kids play room on the third floor.

There are plenty of built-ins and just the right amount of architectural interest in the spaces.

The kitchen and family room overlooking the backyard.

The family room and kitchen are open-concept, ideal for everyday living, while the formal dining room and living room are perfect for entertaining.

A bathroom with a clawfoot tub.

35 South Dr. boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The primary bedroom.

The primary suite is a bedroom equivalent of a hug, with a whole sitting room and fireplace.

The second floor family room.

There’s an additional family room on the second floor.

A bedroom on the third floor.

Meanwhile, the third floor has two bedrooms as well as a playroom for the kids.

The basement.

The basement boasts one of the nicest laundry rooms I’ve ever seen and a gym space.

The backyard.

And if the inside of the house wasn’t stunning enough, the backyard backs onto the Rosedale ravine, so you don’t even have backyard neighbours.

The primary ensuite bathroom.

The only thing this house doesn’t have that would make it peak Nancy Meyers is a swimming pool in the backyard, but I’m nitpicking.

A bedroom on the second floor.

The only other fault is that this Nancy Meyers dream home isn’t cheap.

The back of the house.

35 South Dr. is listed for $8,995,000 and I, for one, green with envy of whoever gets to call this home.
