Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo is gearing up to expand its presence in Canada with the addition of four new locations, including one in Toronto that is slated to open up this fall.

The casual wear designer opened its first Canadian location in 2016 at the CF Eaton Centre, and most recently opened up new stores at Fairview Mall and Scarborough Town Centre.

The brand announced on Wednesday that it will be opening up a new location at CF Sherway Gardens in the fall, as well as two other locations in the GTA at Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga and Bramalea City Centre in Brampton (also both opening this fall).

“We have seen incredible momentum throughout Canada, and we couldn’t be more excited to open four new stores,” said Daisuke Tsukagoshi, CEO of Uniqlo North America.

The brand’s expansion throughout the GTA aligns with its 2022 goal to reach 200 locations in North America by 2027. As of June 2024, there were 23 Uniqlo stores in Canada and 58 locations in the U.S.

The retailer is aiming to open up over 20 new stores throughout the U.S.  and Canada by the end of 2024.
