Homes have all sorts of functions. At the most basic level they’re a shelter from the outdoor elements but they’re usually much more than that.

They’re a place where meals are shared, laughs are had, and memories are made. They can also be a canvas to express yourself, lifestyle and quirks.

Ultimately, they’re a place where we’re supposed to feel most comfortable, happy, and safe.

The foyer.

So when you think of a home, an art gallery doesn’t typically come to mind, but for the owner of 1405 Acton Cres. that’s exactly what they wanted.

The living room and dining room.

Designed by Atelier Sun for an art collector, this house was made specifically to display artwork. 1405 Acton Crescent Oakville

The open concept main floor.

The modern home was built in 2023, and everything about it is kind of muted and minimalist so that it doesn’t pull focus from whatever might be on the walls.

The view to the backyard.

But without art, this home looks almost a tad dull.

A bedroom.

However, don’t let the unstimulating interiors fool you.

The primary ensuite bathroom.

Despite the home finishes blending into the background, 1405 Acton Cres. is a luxury home through and through.

The kitchen.

For example, the kitchen, with simple white cabinetry, features Miele appliances, Caesarstone countertops, and a convenient pot filler.

The living room.

Or take the open concept living room, dining room and family room; everything has clean, simple lines and a palette of white, warm white oak wood or black.

The family room.

But if you look closely, you’ll notice little details, like how the fireplace surround is water jet finished granite.

The primary bedroom.

1405 Acton Cres. boasts more than 5,300 square feet of living space, with four bedrooms and six bathrooms.

Oversized windows bring in tons of natural light.

The house has soaring 10.5-foot ceilings and tons of natural light. 1405 Acton Crescent Oakville

A bedroom.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite, and all the bathrooms have heated floors.

1405 Acton Crescent Oakville

The basement.

The basement is fully finished and has a glass-enclosed room that would be great as a gym as well as a wet bar, guest bedroom and ensuite bathroom.

The backyard.

As for outdoor space, it’s hard to tell what you’re working with under the mound of snow. But the listing does mention a saltwater concrete swimming pool, so there’s something to look forward to when the snow finally melts.

The backyard in the summer.

1405 Acton Cres. is listed for $4,499,000.
