$5 million Ontario mansion looks like it was pulled from an architecture magazine

If you need more space in your life, either for your car collection or your mental health, and you like mid-century design, 2510 17th Sideroad in King City might just be your dream home.

Sitting on nearly five acres of land backing onto a ravine, this property is undoubtedly drool-worthy.

But then you see the house itself, and it definitely stands out among the McMansions for which King City is known.

The loft office.

With a mid-century vibe, this 8,000 square-foot home is “Architectural Digest-worthy,” or at least in the words of the listing agent, Tara McCarthy.

The music room, living room and dining room.

As you enter the home, you’re greeted by soaring ceilings (up to 30-feet in some parts), warm wood floors, panelled ceilings, and tons of natural light.

The family room.

On the main level of the home, you have an open concept layout with the principal rooms.

The living room.

The sunken living room is very 70s with wood panelled ceilings and exposed brick details. There’s also a fun little Juliet-like balcony that overlooks the space. But don’t be fooled, nothing here is from the 70s.

The basement recreation room.

Everything was recently renovated, so while it might have retro vibes, it’s not actually retro.

The kitchen.

The kitchen is classic with white cabinetry, stainless steel appliances and a large island.

The breakfast nook.

The wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling windows bring in tons of natural light and give you great views of the surrounding nature.

A bedroom.

2510 17th Sideroad boasts five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Another bedroom.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom.

A bathroom.

The bathrooms have a glam vibe to them, which, admittedly, is a departure from the mid-century aesthetic that dominates the rest of the home.

The primary bedroom.

The primary bedroom is massive and features its own walk-in closet and a six-piece ensuite.

The primary ensuite bathroom.

The house’s unconventional shape gives the rooms some unique walls and nooks, so if you’re not great at being creative with your room layouts, this might be a deal breaker.

The gym.

The basement of the house doesn’t really feel like a basement since it has tons of natural light thanks to the picture windows that are above grade.

2510 17th Sideroad King City

The second kitchen.

The lower level also has a full second kitchen, an extra bedroom and living area, which McCarthy points out makes it perfect for multi-generational families.

2510 17th Sideroad King City

The stairwell.

But perhaps the most enticing selling point of 2510 17th Sideroad is the amount of flat land surrounding the property.

As McCarthy told blogTO, since there’s so much land, you can easily build an additional 2,000 square-foot detached garage.

She explained, typically in King City garages have to be attached to the home, but if there’s enough land space this rule doesn’t apply making it a big draw for gear heads with an extensive car collection or just a lot of things to store.

2510 17th Sideroad King City

So much grass.

And while right now there’s not much else going on outdoors apart from a ton of grass and trees, there’s tons of potential.

A patio.

The listing mentions that there are landscape renderings for a pool and cabana.

The back of the house.

2510 17th Sideroad is listed for $4,888,000, down $450,000 from its original listing price of $5,338,000.
