Golden Globes 2026 winners list: ‘One Battle After Another’ leads ahead of ceremony

The 2026 Golden Globe Awards are kicking off Hollywood’s awards season, honouring the year’s best in film and TV.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony is hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, who opened her monologue by saying, “The Golden Globes: without a doubt the most important thing that’s happening in the world right now!” She followed it with “we’ll start the bidding for Warner Bros. at $5.”

Oscar frontrunner One Battle After Another leads all nominees with nine, including acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio and Chase Infiniti and a directing nomination for Paul Thomas Anderson.

Teyana Taylor broke down in tears accepting her first-ever Golden Globe for her supporting role in One Battle After Another. She thanked her family, her cast and crew and spoke directly to the “little brown girls watching tonight.”

“Our softness is not a liability. Our depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine,” she said. “We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter and our dreams deserve space.”

Thomas Anderson won best screenplay for One Battle After Another in the film’s second win of the night.

“When it gets off the page and the actors start saying it, that’s when it gets great,” he said as he accepted his award.

Timothée Chalamet took home the award for best performance by a male actor in a motion picture – musical or comedy for his role in Marty Supreme.

He thanked his father for teaching him gratitude, saying, “It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past, empty handed, my head held high, grateful to just be here. I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter.”

Canadians made a strong showing in this year’s Golden Globe nominations, with Korean-Canadian director Maggie Kang earning a nod for best animated feature for her debut film KPop Demon Hunters. She’ll compete against Toronto’s Domee Shi, who co-directed the fantasy adventure film Elio.

Canadian Seth Rogen accepted the award for best performance by an actor in a television series, musical or comedy.

“We just pretended to do this and now it’s happening,” Rogen said as he accepted the Golden Globe from Zoe Kravitz and Dave Franco, who performed alongside him in The Studio.

Rogen thanked his fellow nominees and called out Only Murders in the Building stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. “I remember growing up watching you guys, my whole life thinking, ‘One day I’m going to beat them,’” he joked. “I did not think that.”
