One of Toronto’s most popular burger joints is giving away 100 free hamburgers

What in the world could possibly be better than a hamburger? A free hamburger from one of Toronto’s most popular burger joints, of course!

I’m sure I’m not only speaking for myself when I say that, once the weather starts warming up and the sun shows its face a little more often, hamburgers are, more or less, the only thing I can think about.

The craving is so easily triggered that sometimes, all it takes is the whiff of a distant barbeque firing up to render me near-rabid, with the only hope of a cure resting in the hands of an apron-wearing, spatula-wielding griddle cook.

The good folks behind Rosie’s Burgers (a frequent recipient of my frenetic burger orders) aren’t doing much to squash that insatiable need for beef, buns and banana pudding this spring, either, as they gear up to open up a brand-new location at Avenue and Lawrence.

To make matters even better — or worse, in the case of my cholesterol — they’re celebrating opening day by giving away 100 free burgers to the first people who stop by.

“Opening a new location is always a labour of love, and we want to be able to celebrate on April 12 the best way we know how: free burgers!” a representative from Rosie’s, who says the company is “stoked” to be opening in the new location, tells me.

“We always like to make our opening days feel more like a party, celebrating all of the hard work it takes to get us there and the people who make it a point to join us on the big day; it’s the least we can do to show our love and appreciation right back,” they note.

The celebration kicks off at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and the pro bono burgers will be flying until the first 100 customers have been served. According to the burger chain, you’ll get your pick of “any burger, any way, one per person.”

After that, you’ll just have to buy your own — I promise it’s worth it.

Rosie’s latest burger shop is located at 1542 Avenue Road, but you can also visit them at their other Toronto locations in Port Credit, on Queen West or at The Well.
