Team Canada remains on top of the hockey world.
After a stressful championship game, Canada found a way to defeat the USA national club 3-2 in OT off a golden goal from Connor McDavid.
Nathan MacKinnon and Sam Bennett helped out on the scoreboard and goaltender Jordan Binnington made multiple game-saving games in the OT period.

The win was made that much sweeter as the Canadians successfully got revenge for their round-robin loss to the United States last weekend.

The Americans had Brady Tkachuk and Jake Sanderson tally goals, but it wasn’t enough to defeat Sidney Crosby’s Canadian squad.

This marks the fourth-straight international victory for Canada in best-on-best competition, coming out top in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Sochi 2014 Olympics, and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey in Toronto.
While the taste of victory will be savoured by Canadian hockey fans, there is no doubt that these two countries will once again go head-to-head in next year’s Winter Olympic Games in Italy.
